Olivia Munn is the latest celebrity to join the regional food banks in their efforts to help feed the hungry. The actress became a part of the Celebrity Council for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma in July.
The Food Banks' efforts to promote healthy food is what hit home with Munn. She was once approached by a mother with two children outside of a grocery store, asking Munn for money to buy her family groceries. Munn helped her out, but noticed that the family's groceries were full of snacks and lacked in healthy foods.
“It was sad, because that wasn't even in her realm of thought,” Munn said. “Her daughter really liked carrots, but it was always more economical to buy things that didn't spoil right away," Munn said.
The actress is joining singers Graham Colton, K.C. Clifford, Sheree Chamberlain, and local media personalities in the Celebrity Council for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
