Beer With Dirty Name Banned in Alabama

April 21, 2012

If you're looking for a beer called "Dirty Bastard" in Alabama, you won't be able to find it because the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has banned the sale of it. According to mlive, the company that makes the beer, Founders Brewing Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, will have a chance to appeal this decision. Strangely enough, the sale of "Fat Bastard" wine is permitted in Alabama.

Do you find this name objectionable and should it be allowed on store shelves?

I think that is a bit ridiculous. I have seen so many beers that have bastard in the name. What makes this one different? And who are they to stop them? It is not like beer is sold to children.
