Gluten Free Pecan Pie 3 Ways

November 8, 2011

Ask almost any family about their Thanksgiving Day dessert choice and you'll likely hear a story about pecan pie and a deep-seated family feud. Whether it's the great Pumpkin versus Pecan Pie Debate, disagreement over whether or not to include bourbon, or just a squabble over authenticity and ownership, pecan pie has a long history of holiday baking. A Southern staple, the origin of this sweet treat are quite mysterious. First appearing sometime in the early 20th century, it was first included in the Joy of Baking in 1940. Some say it was invented by French pastry chefs in New Orleans; other say it was plantation cooking at its finest. Regardless of its origins, here are 3 of my favorite gluten free pecan pie recipes for you to savor this holiday season.
