Together with hunting for Easter eggs, here are some things to look out for in your neighborhood farmers market: In season are delicious fava beans, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, artichokes, blackberries, meyer lemons, strawberries, peaches, and oranges. Fresh crabs, lobsters, cod, and shrimps are delicious this time of the year too. Keep an eye out for some early pineapples, apricots, and okra, as they will start hitting the markets soon. Here is a roundup of some farmers markets to visit this coming week: Northeast In Connecticut, Get your fresh asparagus, apples, and strawberries at Bishops Orchard Farm Market. The market opens Mondays to Saturday from 8am to 7pm, and Sundays from 9am to 6pm. In Rhode Island, Allen Farms brings fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and salad greens at Brown University Farmers Market. The market opens Thursdays from 11am to 2pm. Southeast In Arkansas, beautiful cabbages, cucumbers, and tomatoes are at Fayetteville Farmers Market. The market opens Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 1pm, and Saturdays from 7am to 2pm. In Kentucky, enjoy spring’s bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables at Norton Commons Farmers Market. The market opens Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. Northwest In Idaho, Nampa Farmers Market opens for the 2011 season on the 30th of April. Greenman’s garden will be offering some purple carrots, multi-colored swiss chard and “Easter egg” radishes. The market opens Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. In Montana, Kalispell Farmers Market offers fresh lettuce, oranges, apples, meats and eggs. The market opens Saturdays from 9am to 1230pm. Midwest In Chicago, Genesis growers offers radishes, lettuce, cabbages at Chicago’s Downtown Farmstand . The market opens Mondays to Fridays from 11am to 7pm, and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. In Indiana, Bloomington Community Farmers Market offers asparagus, cauliflower, sweet potatoes and mustard greens. The market opens Saturdays from 8am to 1pm. Southwest In Arizona, fill your baskets with some salad greens, herbs, and tomatoes from Sunizona Family Farms at Carefree Farmers’ Market. The market opens Fridays from 9am to 1pm. In Colorado, Miller Family Farms will have some tomatoes, green beans, and cabbage at Drake Road Farmers Market. The market opens Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
