Chocolate Chip Cake Bars

Ingredients

1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9"x9" pan.

In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and set aside.

In a second larger mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla to the creamed mixture. Gradually add dry mix until coarse mixture is created. Stir in milk. (You may need to add in more milk if you mix is too dry.) Finally, stir in chocolate chips. .

Place dough in a baking dish and press it into the sides. Put into the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown

This light and fluffy bar cookie tastes almost like a snack cake and makes a great late night snack!

Using a semi-sweet chocolate chip is a must, as it adds a depth to this bar cookie that is simply amazing.
