Cooked Fava Beans

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh fava beans in pods
Angelica powder, (optional) It can be found in Middle Eastern grocery stores
Lemon/Lime

Preparation

Rinse fava beans and place in a large pot. Pour in enough water to cover all the beans over medium heat.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30-40 minutes. Add salt to taste in the last 15 minutes of cooking. Also, as a word of caution, fava beans cannot be eaten raw and need to be fully cooked. After it is completely cooked, drain.

Serve warm on a platter with ground angelica, lemon/lime and salt.
