Chicago is joining the movement to improve school lunches in our country by serving antibiotic-free, locally raised chicken in their public schools.
The school district is now using over a million pounds of chicken from Amish farms.
"CPS' enormous purchase of chicken grown without antibiotics, made through food service provider Chartwells-Thompson Hospitality, is the first of its kind. No other district in the nation is serving this kind of poultry regularly at such a scale."
Let's hope that other school districts follow Chicago's example, and eventually we will live in a country where our children are fed real food rather than a toxic soup.
