They profit off of slowly killing Americans with cheap, poisonous food. Let's face it, it's the food version of crack; addictive, cheap and readily available. Oh, and let's not forget the predatory Fast Food Nation labor practices that make the food so cheap in the first place. So as one of my favorite writers, Gawker's Hamilton Nolan so aptly puts it:
"It is the final, sweetest "f*&% you" to America when a fast-food mogul lives a long, healthy life, and passes away at an age that their most ardent patrons could never hope to reach, what with the saturated fats and all."
Poetry.
Anyway Nolan goes on to list the ages of expiration of some of our most prolific fast-food Boss Hogs, and the average is really, unfairly old. For instance, Glen Bell, founder of Taco Bell (whose name is Bell) died at 86. And most recently, Nathan's Hot Dog boss, Murray Handwerker died at the ripe old age of 89.
If nothing else, Handwerker's longevity lends credence to the nitrates hoax theory.
