Lasagna

Ingredients
1 pound sausage links
32 ounces spaghetti sauce
6 ounces tomato paste
1 pound Cheddar cheese, sliced
8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 pound hamburger
1 pound lasagna noodles
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 pounds cottage cheese
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon oregano
1/2 cup red cooking wine
Preparation

Cook sausage and hamburger (break up sausage while cooking). Cook lasagna noodles. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, combine egg, cottage cheese, parsley flakes, and Parmesan cheese. Add pepper to taste. Set aside. Add oregano, wine, spaghetti sauce and tomato paste to hamburg mixture. Cover and simmer. Butter large lasagna pan.

Place a layer of cooled noodles in the pan, spread cheese mixture over noodles, sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and Cheddar cheese, followed by the hamburg mixture. Continue alternating for 3 layers, or until ingredients are used up. Cook at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Let set 15 minutes before serving.

Lasagna is a classic Italian comfort food. You can use ricotta instead of cottage cheese for a more elegant meal.
