'Tis the season of the cookie swap so throughout December, I will be sharing cookie recipes that are guaranteed to impress friends, family, coworkers and the occasional passerby. If you have a soft spot for cake-like cookies, then these chocolate peppermint cookies will be a definite winner. Unlike most chocolate peppermint cookie recipes, these cookies are thick and buttery (similar to Lofthouse sugar cookies). One baked, they are topped with melted bittersweet chocolate and chopped candy canes. You might want to bake an extra batch as the first will "inexplicably" disappear before arriving to the swap. Stay tuned for more beloved holiday cookie recipes to sweeten the season.
