Try a new twist on classic basil pesto at your next potluck; whip up this grapefruit-basil pesto recipe that pairs gorgeously with light wheat crackers or stronger gourmet cheeses. Citrus wakes up your palate and brings a brighter dimension to heavier olive oil and and walnuts.
Basil Grapefruit Pesto

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh basil
1/2 grapefruit
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup asiago cheese
1 1/2 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 clove garlic
3/4 tsp. sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender, and puree.
