Pharrell Williams is suing Diageo North America for $5 million over a failed deal for a Qream liquor partnership. The musician hired the company to distribute and promote Qream, which was meant to be marketed as a high-class drink for women, however Diageo failed to uphold their end of the deal.
According to reports, Diageo promoted Qream for two years, then shut the brand down completely without any warning. Pharrell is also claiming the company promoted the liquor to the wrong crowd, which means sales were "substantially lower" than what was expected. To top it all off, Diageo allegedly manufactured the bottles with faulty tops.
