Jillian Michaels was recently asked about the types of foods that can help fight lethargy and and boost energy. The celebrity trainer says getting lots of sleep and avoiding junk food can help, but also suggested specific types of foods that can help keep you going throughout your busy day.
"Choose 100 percent whole grains and foods that are high in fiber because they also stabilize your blood sugar," Michaels suggested. "Quinoa is a great option. And last, look for foods high in your vitamin B complexes. All B vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which is used to produce energy. Some great examples would be beef, fish, and eggs."
Michaels also advises to never skip a meal and to add foods with healthy fats and protein, like nuts and seeds, to your diet.
