Valerie Bertinelli is a 'Master at Losing Weight'

October 25, 2012

Valierie Bertinelli recently opened up about her struggles with drugs and her weight on the Dr. Oz show, saying she has spent so much time trying to lose weight, she's now a master at it. The actress admitted she has always had an unhealthy relationship with food.

"I used food as a crutch and I abused food in a way that I shouldn't have," Bertinelli told Dr. Oz. "And it made me afraid of food for a while, too, but now I embrace it."

Those struggles with food stemmed for her days of partying and drug abuse.

"[Using drugs] wreaked havoc on [my body], because one day I'm eating a healthy meal and the next day I'm just putting a bunch of white powder up my nose," Bertinelli said. "I was never really addicted to drugs. That's why it was so easy for me to stop. But food is a whole other thing."

After a 50-pound weight-loss and a new lease on life, Bertinelli can proudly say she has mastered the art of losing weight and getting healthy.

"I'm a master at losing weight. I've done it almost my whole life... This is the very first time in my life that I have kept this much weight off for as long as I have."
