Donatella Arpaia celebrated her first Mother's Day this year and revealed how she was planning on spending her day.
"Almost every year I have hosted by family at one of my restaurants, but this is my first year celebrating Mother's Day as a mother myself, so it's all about creating new traditions!" The Next Iron Chef judge said. "My husband told me that we would go up to our weekend home the night before because in the morning he and my 6-month-old are going to make me waffles. Afterward we will likely brunch with my mom and then dinner with my mother-in-law; perhaps one of those will be at Donatella!"
When it comes to larger family gatherings, Arpaia gets her DIY on and makes sure the table setting is perfect for the occasion.
"I love setting the table for special occasions," she said. "For holidays where all the kids are involved, I make place cards and provide little gifts for all the little children that they can play with during the meal."
