The city of New York was allegedly considering a ban on happy hour to reduce risky alcohol use, which, according to a New York Post article, was in Commissioner Thomas Farley's "Take Care New York 2012" plans. The Post story quickly made its rounds on the Internet, sparking an outcry from drinkers and non-drinkers alike.
However, Mayor Bloomberg has since set the record straight, saying, "The Health Department has no plans. We told them we have no plans. It is a totally fictitious, made-up story."
Do you think a ban on happy hour would cut down risky alcohol use? Alabama recently just banned Dirty Bastard beer simply because of its name.
