Artist Alison Knowles has been performing "Make a Salad" since 1962. The idea behind the performance is to drop salad ingredients over a bridge onto a tarp, where it then combines, creating a giant feast.
The first "Make a Salad" performance served just 30 people; today, however, approximately 1,900 people will sample her conceptual art at a time. For another tasty salad recipe, check out these five super summer salads.
