State Dept Pushing Monsanto on the World

November 5, 2011

All over the planet nations are up in arms over their crops being taken over by Monsanto's GMOs. The US state Department is not helping, as they are using tax dollars to push the Monsanto agenda.

There are official government departments such as the Office of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Textile Trade Affairs (ABT) whose purpose is to promote GMOs to rural areas. "ABT seeks to address "barriers and opening markets for American farm products, contributing to the development of effective food aid policies, promoting rural development and increasing agricultural productivity through biotechnology."

The Union of Concerned Scientists does not agree that GMOs are beneficial, and in fact, they came to the conclusion that GMO crops require more pesticides, produce less yield, and that growing organically is the best way to protect the plants from droughts.
