California Ends Food Stamp Fingerprinting Requirements

October 7, 2011

California was one of just three states in America that required fingerprints from food stamp recipients. Starting January 1, a new law changes that.

Designed to increase the number of poor who can receive CalFresh benefits, the new law will help an estimated 7 million California residents.

According to CalFresh guidelines, a family of 3 can may be eligible for up to $526 dollars a month in benefits.
