When we go out for Mexican, I am a creature of habit. I order a margarita on the rocks, no salt. So these mango margaritas were most definitely outside of my comfort zone. And I liked it!

This is what the Widow’s Kiss is like. Sweet, complex and darkly golden, thought-provoking and introspective.

This tasty long drink is such a breeze to make, that even if you're pressed for time, there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to fit one of these into your day. It's a classic for good reason!

If you don’t like jasmine, mint, or green tea you may be surprised by this recipe, especially on ice. It is a zinger! Enjoy.

I love champagne. It quite possibly might be my favorite alcoholic drink. I love it by itself. I love it in a cocktail. I love it for mimosas. I also love that calling it a mimosa makes it perfectly acceptable to drink at breakfast.

We like Kahlua. We bought a bottle in Mexico for $5. The same size bottle cost $14 in California. Guess how surprised we were to discover that the same size bottle costs $28 in Montana!

I was first introduced to tepache by my Uncle who lives in Ensenada, Mexico. I was musing one afternoon during a visit of his about how much of a pineapple one needs to cut off and discard when he brought up the topic of tepache. He told me it was a popular fermented pineapple drink he had seen often around Mexico City. Naturally, once he mentioned that it was fermented I was intrigued.

Our dear friends from New York visited us this past week and one of our rituals is to hit up a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint due to the lack of good Mexican food in the Big Apple.Last Friday night we placed a very large take-out order for six and pigged out in the comfort of our own home, with a very LARGE pitcher of frozen watermelon margaritas of course!

I have family members in Oregon and I get out there two or three times a year. I always try to spend a few days in Portland, exploring familiar beer places and trying out new ones.

With Cinco de Mayo on the horizon, I thought I would devote my postings this week to Mexican fare. Today, I am posting a recipe I found on David Lebovitz's blog Horchata. Horchata is a drink made from rice in Mexico sometimes with vanilla but always with cinnamon.

Atlanta reached the high-80′s today. It was beautiful for the hot weather lovers like myself, but food almost becomes irrelevant as summer approaches. Cooling drinks like this one are much more appreciated.

My wife and I love sharing a warm cup of cider as the night fades away and the fireplace plays on behind us. But sometimes, when the week is long and worn and tired, I like to turn my childhood drink into a cocktail fitting the man in me.

I make fresh lemonade a lot during the summer months; it’s so easy and in my opinion tastes much better than the powdered variety.I tried to replicate that perfect balance of sweet and tart in this recipe and hope you get that smooth sweet flavor with a little pucker.

I’ve got my hands on a few of the drink recipes for the Stoli cocktails that’ll be floating around the Tribeca Film Festival this week. Who says you can’t drink like an A-list celebrity?

One of my favorite bars in town has a special for classic cocktails on Monday nights. And that was how I tried a Sidecar for the first time (I picked it for it's name—classy!). And loved it! Now it's kind of my go-to drink. But I loved the idea of having a classic cocktail night, so I decided to learn how to make a few of our favorites.

Legendary whiskey aficionado Benjamin Franklin (among his other distinguished titles) once said, “The only things certain in life are death and taxes.” Shouldn’t bourbon be another one of life’s certainties?

Tea fans are very specific about what makes a “perfect” cup. With that being said, I will share with you my favorite tea recipe and what our friends and family insist we serve to them when they come to visit. It’s almost exactly the same as my first recipe for plain chai, however, this has a strong kick of freshly grated ginger.

I stopped by our local whole foods the other day and as soon as I walked in the door their giant display of local strawberries started shimmering like specks of gold and harmoniously singing to me in angel song.

After a short vacation to the Bahamas, I can’t help but still be in my “beach bum” mode. With that said, I thought it would be the perfect time to share the Beach Bum cocktail I occasionally like to pour up.

Ripe strawberries taste like candy and could stop even the most stubborn sweet tooth dead in its tracks. Man these were good! Naturally I had to corrupt them with vodka.

The fun part, after you learn to make the espresso, is to collect cute little cups and sugar bowls or frothers for cappuccino or fun trays to serve your coffee on. And once you taste how good it is, well, you’ll thank me. You can find moka pots in most stores that sell kitchen appliances in the US, so get out there and start brewing! Buon caffè!

It took Micronesia to get me excited about a smoothie. Don’t get me wrong – I love smoothies. After a while, though, they all taste the same. Until now. This smoothie blushes, straight from the easy, breezy islands.

The 151 Rum float gives the drink a nice kick and a delicious accent of burnt caramel. If you'd like a lighter cocktail, however, you can omit it and the drink is still a delight. So the next time you feel like trying something new, mix up a Planter's Punch and put your own twist on it -- and then share the results with the rest of us.

The hot chocolate here is worth standing up at the bar for and waiting 10 minutes to be served. It is smooth and velvety, a thick but not at all sweet drink. The hot chocolate, like everything else sold here is imported from Spain. This is Enric Rovira hot chocolate from Barcelona.
