Initially I was thinking of using the 14,760 varieties of mint I have in my yard to make a classic Mint Julep, but at the last minute decided to experiment and make a Basil Julep. My friends, this is most excellent.

This blend that we had for breakfast on the third day was particularly delicious...I could have this anytime! If you have a juicer, be sure to leave the peels on everything and leave them whole for the most benefit.

The flavors in the spritzer were perfect for a hot summer day. The Pinot Grigio is a crisp white wine that holds the flavors of the Prickly Pear Syrup, lemons, and limes. The drink was just barely sweet and bursting with fruit flavor.

Close readers may recall my experience trying to infuse a batch of hooch with rhubarb, which didn’t turn out so well, so I ended up adding blueberries and simple syrup in an attempt to salvage the mixture. I allowed it to linger in the liquor cabinet for a month or more to remove the harsh taste of the white lightening.

I love to have a smoothie for breakfast. For one thing, it starts my day of with 2-3 servings of fruit and sometimes a serving of vegetables as well. They’re also very simple; just toss everything in the blender, hit the button, and breakfast is ready!
