Oven-Chipped Potatoes

Ingredients

6 long thin old potatoes
1/4 pound butter, melted

Preparation

Scrub potatoes and cut, unpeeled, into thick slices. Soak slices in ice water for at least 1 hour. Drain and dry thoroughly on paper towels. Dip slices in melted butter and arrange them on a large shallow baking dish. Bake the slices for 40 to 50 minutes in a 375 degree oven, turning once or twice until they are crisp and evenly browned.
