Angie's Spaghetti Casserole

Ingredients

12 ounces uncooked spaghetti, regular or multi-grain
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 onion, sliced
1 package fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 cup red wine, any variety
1 jar (26- oz.) pasta sauce, any variety
1 package (8- oz.) shredded Italian cheese blend
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning blend
1 teaspoon basil

Preparation

Cook spaghetti with 1/2 tsp. salt according to package directions. Drain well, and place in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.

Brown sausage, chopped onion, and mushrooms. Season with basil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and wine in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until meat and vegetables are tender. Drain and set aside. Wipe skillet clean. , and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 4 minutes or until slightly crisp.

Top spaghetti in baking dish with sausage; pour pasta sauce over sausage. Sprinkle evenly with cheeses. Cover with nonstick or lightly greased aluminum foil.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes; remove foil, and bake 10 more minutes or until cheese is melted and just begins to brown.

This is a fun take on spaghetti. All you need to serve with this is a salad and warm bread, any kind.
