Ground Beef In Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup (¼ pound butter
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 small clv garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed cream of
chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 ounce can (6 size) tomato paste
1 can (6 or 8 ounces) sliced mushrooms,
drained
1/4 cup dry sherry
1 cup (½ pint) sour cream or yogurt
hot cooked noodles
chopped dill pickles
Preparation

In a large skillet, saute onion in butter until golden. Add beef, break apart and cook, stirring until it loses its pinkness. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, chicken soup and tomato paste. Add mushrooms and sherry; mix well to blend. Cover and simmer gently 15 minutes. Stir in sour cream or yogurt. Heat, but do not boil. Serve sauce over the noodles.
