Hard Candies

Ingredients

4 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 cup white Karo syrup
1 teaspoon flavored oil
hard candy thermometer

Preparation

Hook thermometer on inside of heavy pan. Prepare baking sheet by dusting with powered sugar and set aside (about 4 sheets per recipe). Mix all to without stirring in pan. Cook in for about 25 minutes until thermometer reaches 300° or “hard” on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add food coloring stirring with wooden spoon. Drizzle candy on baking dish and allow candy to harden. Break into pieces and enjoy.
