Chocolate Cake Pie

Ingredients

1 deep dish pie crust

1 1/2 cups sugar

cup cocoa

3/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

cup pecans, chopped

1 cup sifted flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 egg, slightly beaten

Whipped non-dairy topping, thawed

Chocolate syrup

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, cocoa, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and the nuts. Set aside. Mix together butter and remaining sugar until blended. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture along with milk. Spread chocolate mixture into bottom of pie shell. Spread batter over chocolate. Bake on a preheated cookie sheet until toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 40 to 45 minutes. Cool completely. Serve with
