Ingredients
2 cups
cherries
, seeded & drained
3/4 cup
sugar
1 cup
cherry
juice
3 tablespoons
flour
1 cup
flour
1 teaspoon
baking powder
2 tablespoons
sugar
teaspoon
salt
3 tablespoons
butter
cup
milk

Preparation

Put cherries and cherry
juice
in
baking
dish
.

Combine 3/4 cup sugar and 3 Tbsp. flour, and sprinkle over
top
.

Put in oven and
stir
occasionally until mixture is
heated
.

Sift flour once,
measure
, add
baking powder
, sugar and
salt
, and sift again.

Cut
in butter.

Add milk gradually until soft dough is formed.

Roll
1/3 inch thick on slightly floured board.

Place on hot cherry mixture.

Bake
in hot oven (425 degrees) 30 minutes.
