Date Biscotti-بسكوت بالتمر

Ingredients

3 eggs beaten
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter (melted and cooled)
3 cups pitted dates (cut into small pieces)
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons A little bit of milk, about, in case the mix is tough to stir

Preparation

Melt the butter and cool.

Beat eggs, add sugar, cooled butter and mix well.

Add the chopped dates and nuts.

Sift all the dry ingredients and mix together, add to egg mixture and mix well.

Pour batter into a greased 13 X 9 pan.

Bake in an 350 oven for 40 -45 minutes. When toothpick comes out clean they are done.

Cool and cut into biscotti shape pieces.

Bake again in a very hot oven for about 10 minutes until the pieces become crispy.

Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
