Basic Basil Baked Tomatoes

Ingredients

2 any good sized tomatoes per person beeing served (good for siders and part of a main meal)
oil for greasing
dried basil leaves or fresh

Preparation

Wash and dry the tomatoes and pull of any remaining leaves or stems.

Pre-heat oven to gas mark 5 or 6 ,if it is a fan -assisted oven use I80 or 190 cels instead.

Grease a baking tray or pan with oil (without holes) .

Rub all over the tomatoes with oil and dried basil leaves( if you are using fresh basil leaves do not add them yet).

Season them with the pinch of salt and put the tomatoes in the tray.

Put in the middle of the oven and let it cook for 7 minutes.

Move the tomatoes in the tray a bit and now put on the fresh basil if you are using it.

Let it cook for 5 minutes more and the tomatoes should be done. (they can be left in the oven for softer tomatoes).

(Season them a bit extra with more salt if it is required).

Serve them hot and enjoy them straight away!

Other notes: if needed to be kept in fridge , only keep them for 2 days.
