About

These are known as just “squares” in our house because there are no other kinds. This recipe is based on one that a colleague of mine sent me. I didn’t have any of the original ingredients except for condensed milk so I changed all of the dry ingredients and came up with these. They are incredibly delicious and easy to make.

Recipe for “Squares”

Mix 1 cup of the following in a large bowl: chocolate chips, dried cranberries, whole almonds, shredded unsweetened coconut. Add one 300 ml can of sweetened condensed milk (low-fat or regular) and stir until the dry ingredients are well-coated.

Line an 8 x 8 ” pan with parchment paper. Scrape mixture into pan and bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on a rack. Cut into squares.

Kids’ Verdict

The baby hasn’t been fortunate enough to have these yet as she doesn’t have very many teeth for chewing. The toddler is crazy for these.
