Noodles With Broccoli Chicken In Cheese Sauce

This recipe was entered in The Foodista Best of Food Blogs Cookbook contest, a compilation of the world’s best food blogs which was published in Fall 2010.

Ingredients

5 tablespoons butter or margarine

cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 1/2 cups of milk

2 cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen broccoli flowerets

2 mediums chicken breast cut as desired and cook over medium heat w/olive oil

1/2 package Extra wide egg noodles

Preparation

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter; stir in flour,salt and pepper. Cook 1 minute. Add Milk; cook, stirring frequently until slightly thickened. Stir in cheese, broccoli and chicken until cheese melts. Cook noodles according to package directions. Toss hot noodles with sauce.
