German Butterman

Ingredients

3 cups flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound butter
1 1/8 cups sugar
1 egg
1 egg white, beaten
1/4 cup Riesling or other fruity white wine

Preparation

Sift flour, cinnamon, and salt

Mix butter and sugar at medium until fluffy

Add egg

Alternate between dry ingredients and wine, 1/3 at a time

Chill in refrigerator for at least one hour

Flour surface area and roll out 1/4 inch thick

Use gingerbread man cookie cutter

Brush surface with egg white

Bake 20 minutes at 350F
