  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 10-12 pound turkey
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the turkey thoroughly and pat it completely dry with paper towels.

Take one clove of garlic and rub it over the turkey skin. Then, rub the skin with olive oil, followed by salt and pepper.

Stuff the turkey cavity with the bay leaves and the remaining garlic cloves.

In a small bowl, soften the butter. Add the oregano, rubbed sage, thyme leaves, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, marjoram, and dried basil to the softened butter. Mix all ingredients thoroughly to combine.

Place 1 tablespoon of the prepared butter and herb mixture into the turkey cavity.

Carefully separate the turkey meat from the skin and place the remaining butter and herb mixture underneath the skin, directly onto the meat, spreading it evenly.

Place the prepared turkey on a baking pan lined with aluminum foil.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the turkey until it is fully cooked, noting that the cooking time will vary depending on the turkey's weight.
