Pineapple Chutney

Ingredients

1 teaspoon oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
5 -6 whole cloves
1 cup crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons sugar
teaspoon salt (or to taste)
teaspoon turmeric (optional)
teaspoon garam masala (purchased or homemade, see recipe

Preparation

In a pan, heat oil. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Let spices sizzle and swell. Then add pineapple, sugar, salt and turmeric. Let mixture cook for 5-6 minutes. Add garam masala and remove from heat. Cool before storing.
