Homemade Ginger-Ale

Ingredients
1/2 pound FRESH GINGER ROOT
2/3 cup SUGAR (YOU CAN ADD UP TO 1 CUP TO TASTE)
1 cup WATER
1 tablespoon LEMON JUICE
Preparation

Grate the ginger root coarsely into a bowl. Add the sugar, and stir to combine. Let sit for at least 15 minutes- but up to an houri is preferable.

Pour the ginger mixture into a saucepan and add the water.

Just in time for summer, this refreshing and spicy beverage will keep you coming back for more. It’s delicious and you can add as much or as little sugar as you want. I like the recipe just like it is. A few other thoughts, wouldn’t it be a nice and spicy addition to a shot of vodka or a little sorbet?
