Cranberry and Strawberry Sangria

Ingredients

1 cup water (8 fl oz)
2/3 cup sugar (5 oz)
3 cloves
2 mediums lemon slices
2 mediums lime slices
3 1/4 cups dry red wine (26 fl oz)
2 cups cranberry juice (16 fl oz)
6 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons Triple Sec
1 1/4 cups fresh strawberries, trimmed (5 oz)
1 cup club soda (8 fl oz)

Preparation

Put the water, sugar, cloves, lemon slices, and lime slices in a saucepan and set over medium heat.

Mix well and simmer for a couple of minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add in the tea bags.

Leave the tea bags in to infuse the water for five minutes, then remove and discard the tea bags and the cloves, and transfer the mixture to a large serving pitcher.

Mix in the wine, cranberry juice, brandy and Triple sec.

Add the orange chunks and strawberries, then cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.

Mix in the club soda immediately before serving. Serve chilled, over ice.
