Physical Description
Small bright yellow fruit, looks like a slightly flattened loquat. Its skin has a velvety texture and is quite firm. Turns more orange in colour as it ripens, and sometimes has a red blush. The kei apple tree looks a bit like a small-leafed citrus from a distance. It has viciously sharp thorns along its branches.
Preparation and Use
Cleaning: No need to clean kei apples if they have fallen onto the ground, beyond a quick rinse in running water to remove dust and grass.
