MTV is entering the realm of food television. The network is adding two new food-related reality shows to their programming for next year.
The first is called MTV's House of Food. The reality show will have a group of young aspiring chefs move into a house together in Los Angeles, where they will learn new culinary skills from noted chefs. They will also be competing for a major apprenticeship.
The second new show is called Snackdown, and partners MTV personality Rob Dyrdrek, who will produce the show, with Eddie Huang, who will host the show. The half-hour program will join MTV's afternoon lineup and will have amateur chefs going head-to-head in "snack-inspired challenges" in the hopes of winning a cash prize. Model Chrissy Teigen and chef Jason Quinn will serve as judges along with a third, yet to be announced judge.
