FAQ
What is IFBC?
IFBC was the first ever food blogger conference! Bloggers, authors, editors, publishers, technologists, food/cooking industry professionals, and more all gather in one conference focused on food, writing, technology. It's just the right size (250-300), making it easy for you to network with fellow bloggers, speakers and industry leaders.
When?
September 20-22, 2013
Where?
Seattle, Washington
Will there be food?
You bet there will be food! We're know to have the best food of any food blogger conference! We're gathering acclaimed local chefs and winemakers to prepare delicious food and drink for the event. Stay tuned for more information on our Food & Drink page!
I have special dietary needs, will IFBC accommodate my food preferences?
IFBC will feature delicious food from a wide variety of talented chefs. We will make every effort to provide options for those attendees that have special dietary needs.
What should I wear?
Your comfort during the conference should be your main priority! Dress in whatever will allow you to fully enjoy the event.
I only want to attend one event/session/day. Is there a partial registration price?
Unfortunately, we have no partial-conference prices and it is not possible to share a conference registration spot.
Are there any opportunities for financial sponsorship so that I, as a blogger, can attend the conference?
In the past, IFBC has provided a forum so that bloggers and businesses can connect (without our endorsement or involvement in the match-making). We've found that bloggers have better luck when they reach out directly to businesses, so we've ended the forum and are offering our advice on how to best connect and get sponsored!
- *Start by contacting local food companies that you use and respect.
- *Offer to provide something of value to them: guest blog posts, Tweets on their behalf while attending the conference...be creative, you're pitching to be their representative!
- *In return, ask for help covering travel costs, hotel, and/or registration fee. Be specific about what you are asking for and detail how it will be used
- *Share your request on the IFBC Twitter to help get your request out and use the hashtag #sponsorpartner
What is your Cancelation/Transfer Policy?
If you need to cancel your conference reservation, your fee is 50% refundable as long as you cancel with 30 days advance notice. After that your fee is non-refundable. If you wish to transfer your registration to someone else, please email us and copy the person to whom you are transferring your registration, providing his/her complete information (name, email address, Twitter name, website URL). Please note we have no partial-conference prices and it is not possible to share a conference registration spot.
