A rare strain of salmonella that has sickened 14 people, has been traced back to a brand of pet food that was recalled.
Diamond Pet Foods, has some of their products recalled:
Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice Formula
Diamond Puppy Formula
Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Adult Light Formula
The illnesses were confirmed after officials tested bags of both opened and unopened Diamond dog food bags in the victims' homes.
The people were sickened by handling the contaminated food and not washing hands properly or handling stool of the pets fed the food.
