Vineyard Views: Menetou-Salon, Loire Valley

April 18, 2012

Though overshadowed by it's more famous neighbor, Sancerre, Menetou-Salon is a wine region in France's Loire Valley that can also produce some lovely and memorable Sauvignon Blanc. And while it may not be as easy to find as Sancerre, the wines of Menetou-Salon are further evidence of the greatness of Sauvignon Blanc in this region. Don't forget about the Pinot Noir produced in this part of the Loire, either. If you like elegant-styled Pinot Noir, seek out bottles from either of these regions.

This photo of Domaine Jean Teiller was taken while on a trip sponsored by the Loire Valley Wine Bureau.
