Fresh Apple Cobbler

Ingredients
2 cups Apples thinly sliced
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 tablespoon Grated Lemon Peel
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 tablespoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Salt
cup Butter
1/2 cup Milk
1 Egg well-beaten
2 tablespoons Sugar

Sift together flour, baking powder, 1 Tablespoon sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture in like coarse crumbs. Add milk and egg at once. Stir until flour is just moistened. Spread dough over hot apples. Sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
