Caramel Cake

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/4 cup caramel syrup
3/4 cup water
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream shortening; beat in sugar gradually. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
