Mock Barbecue Mock Tender Beef Strips

Ingredients

2 pounds Mock Tender Steak, cut into medallions
1 cup Acidic Marinade or Combination of Steak Sauce and Barbecue S
1 1/2 cups White Wine or Combination of Broth and Vinegar

Preparation

Marinate the steak in the acidic marinade for 2 to 24 hours

Put the steak in one layer in a oven proof pan

Pour the wine or broth and vinegar around the steak

Cover tightly with foil

Bake at 300 degrees 1-2 hours, the longer the more tender

Uncover, drain away the cooking liquid

Slice the medallions into thin strips, discarding any gristle
8
Moisten the strips with the barbecue sauce and return to the oven for 15 minutes to carmelize the sauce

About

This recipe is very flexible. Vary the marinade and the final sauce to taste. I often start with a vinegar-and-oil-based bottled salad dressing for a marinade.
