We are thrilled to announce that IFBC is coming back to Seattle in 2015!

Organized by Foodista.com and Zephyr Adventures, IFBC was the first-ever conference for food bloggers, first held in May of 2009. The series focuses on three themes: Food, Writing, and Technology. This event will feature high-quality educational sessions, personal networking opportunities, and what 95% of attendees say is the best food and wine of any blogging conference! Join us for our SEVENTH annual conference in beautiful Seattle, Washington!

Dates: September 18 - 20, 2015
Location: The Sheraton Seattle Hotel
Registration Fee: $195 / $495

REGISTER NOW

*The cost of registration for all participants is $495. However, for food bloggers with an active blog who agree to write at least three posts about the conference, the cost is only $195. You can choose to write about anything you want - the conference itself, the venue, the sponsors, or the food - and can do so before, during, or immediately after the conference. This is our way of supporting food bloggers as you attempt to make a living (or cut costs from) your food blogging.

Foodista and Zephyr Adventures have teamed up to conduct the 3rd annual State of Food Blogging survey, which will reveal key statistics and trends pertinent to the food blogging community. Think Technorati's State of the Blogosphere annual reports, but catered specifically to food bloggers.

This information is essential to ongoing innovation and trends within our industry. Food bloggers can use the State of Food Blogging survey results to gauge their goals against fellow participants, or discover what advertising methods worked best (and worst) for others. Industry professionals will learn what factors are most important to food blogger conference attendees, and how food bloggers are using social media. On our end, Foodista and Zephyr Adventures will use the survey results to help shape the content we provide at the International Food Bloggers' Conference.

All State of Food Blogging survey responses will be kept entirely confidential -- they will only be used in aggregated form -- and all participants will receive a completed report.

Shauna James Ahern

Shauna will lead the "Professional Recipe Development" writing session at IFBC 2014 in Seattle.

Shauna James Ahern is the author of the cookbook, Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef, named one of the best cookbooks of 2010 by The New York Times, and the food memoir, Gluten-Free Girl. She is also the author, photographer, and head baker at Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef, her much-loved food website (www.glutenfreegirl.com), which she creates with her chef husband, Daniel Ahern. Her work has been published or recognized by The New York Times, Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Epicurious, Babble, The Guardian, Gilt Taste, CNN's Eatocracy, and The Washington Post. Her latest cookbook, Gluten-Free Girl Everyday, was nominated for a James Beard award. She and her husband, with their two children, live on Vashon Island, where they are probably cooking something as you read this.

Tim Resnik will lead "The Rules Have Changed: SEO for Bloggers in 2014 and Beyond" Technology session at IFBC 2014 in Seattle.

Tim Resnik is a marketing strategist and builder of online communities, applications and ecommerce sites. Having spent his formative business years in one of the fastest growing web-technology companies in Bangalore, India, Tim not only learned the art of negotiation with shrewd auto-rickshaw drivers on the way to work, but had the opportunity to cut his chops in product development, web usability, project management and enterprise sales. Upon returning state-side in the late 90s, Tim continued to build on his passion for cutting-edge web technology and web marketing. He helped several companies bring to market new products and services to the web, including one of the first mass-marketed identity theft protection services, the first integrated tax compliance software offered in a SaaS model, a digital rights management system for the music industry, the web site for a popular poker magazine, and a social gaming platform.

In 2005, Tim took the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Card Player magazine in Las Vegas, Nevada, and led strategic initiatives that fortified the company’s position as the most widely read poker publication in the world and the most visited poker portal on the web. In less than a year, Tim had doubled the distribution of Card Player magazine. Additionally he tripled organic web traffic to CardPlayer.com, one of the most competitive keyword markets.

A few years later, Tim was appointed as President of SpadeClub, Card Player’s social poker gaming site, and was tasked with building the business from the ground up. Tim built the company to a membership base of over 200,000, with 25,000 paid members. The company was sold in September 2010.

In 2011, Tim launched AudienceWise, an interactive agency focused on helping news publishers and eCommerce operators drive organic search and social traffic to their web properties. The company was acquired by SEOmoz (now Moz.com).

We're thrilled to announce two of our favorite authors as our keynote speakers for IFBC 2014! Two-time James Beard Award-winning authors Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg have written some of the world’s most influential books on food and wine – most notably THE FLAVOR BIBLE, which was named one of the 100 best cookbooks of the last 25 years by Cooking Light and one of the 10 best cookbooks in the world of the past century by Forbes. Cited as two of a dozen "international culinary luminaries" along with Patrick O'Connell, Alice Waters, and Nina and Tim Zagat (in Relais & Chateaux's L'Ame et L'Esprit magazine), Page and Dornenburg were featured on the cover of the 50th anniversary issue of Chef magazine and are the former weekly wine columnists for The Washington Post.

WHAT TO DRINK WITH WHAT YOU EAT was named the Georges Duboeuf “Wine Book of the Year” and the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) “Cookbook of the Year,” and THE FOOD LOVER’S GUIDE TO WINE was both a Foodista and a Gourmand World Cookbook Award winner, as well as a finalist for both the IACP and James Beard book awards. Their cult classic CULINARY ARTISTRY has an avid following among leading chefs on virtually every continent and was named one of the 10 must-have cookbooks of the past 25 years by Toronto’s famed Cookbook Store.  BECOMING A CHEF was praised by Julia Child, who said she kept a copy by her bed (it's now part of the Julia Child's Kitchen exhibit at The Smithsonian).  In addition to being featured on “Today,” “Good Morning America,” and countless NPR programs, their books have been translated into multiple languages, and they have been featured speakers at gastronomy conferences around the globe.

Karen Page earned degrees from Northwestern and Harvard, and a certificate in plant-based nutrition from Cornell in conjunction with the T. Colin Campbell Foundation as preparation for her forthcoming book THE VEGETARIAN FLAVOR BIBLE (Fall 2014).  She was one of 100 distinguished alumnae named by Northwestern's President as a founding member of The Council of 100, and serves on the Advisory Committee for Citymeals-on-Wheels’ Power Lunch for Women, which gathers 300+ of New York City’s most influential women to raise more than $1 million annually to feed the homebound elderly.  Andrew Dornenburg studied with the legendary Madeleine Kamman at the School for American Chefs, and earned a sommelier certificate from the Sommelier Society of America.  He previously cooked professionally in top restaurants in New York and Boston, and has been featured in the book Golden Opportunity, on “Regis & Kelly,” and on “Page Six” as one of McDonald’s most famous alums. The couple,  who has run more than a half-dozen marathons and countless half-marathons between them, married in 1990 and lives in Manhattan.
