About
Milk stout is a strong, dark ale that contains lactose, a component of milk, making it sweeter than a regular stout. Dark roasted grains and malts dominate the flavor, with notes of coffee and chocolate. Hop bitterness is moderate and balanced by the sweetness. In the past, milk stouts were marketed as being nutritious because of the milk content and often given to the elderly, ill or nursing mothers. ABV: 4 – 6%%
