Actor Oliver Platt will be hosting the upcoming James Beard Awards. Stanley Tucci was originally slated to host the awards ceremony, but the May 6 date conflicted with other work commitments.
"We are delighted to have Oliver Platt to join this year's James Beard Awards, especially as we celebrate iconic food and film moments," said Susan Ungara, presdient of the James Beard Foundation. "Due to a work commitment, our long-time supporter Stanley Tucci is no longer able to host this year's festivities and is pleased to have his old pal step in."
The James Beard Awards will be taking place on May 6 at the Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
