Taco Bell delivered 10,000 Doritos Locos tacos to Bethel, Alaska after the small town was led to believe through rumors that the fast food chain was opening up shop there. When the executives heard that the residents were disappointed, the marketing department came up with Operation Alaska, a campaign to bring Taco Bell deliciousness to Bethel's residents. On July 1, 2012, 10,000 tacos were airlifted from Anchorage (a town 350 miles away) and delivered the goods.
