This enormous gingerbread house was created by architecture firm Alma-nac to raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The 10-foot edible edifice required a ton of design testing and research to suss out materials that wouldn't crumble in the hospital's gallery.
Over 1,000 children and parents got to feast on the gigantic gingerbread house over three days. My Modern Metropolis reports that the leftovers were composted. Click through the pages to see more photos of the towering treat and read more about the gingerbread house's details.
