Carnie Wilson says Addiction to Food Caused Weight Gain

January 7, 2012

Carnie Wilson has always battled with her weight, but when she had gastric bypass surgery in 1999, she seemed to be able to keep her fluctuating weight at a healthy level. More recently, Wilson has found herself herself on the heavier side again and says it is the cause of stress and her addictive personality.

"I always think I am one of the millions and millions of people that struggles with an addiction to food," she said. "I don't always know how to relax, that's my problem. I can't smoke a joint, I can't have a glass of wine, because I want 10 joints and 10 glasses of wine."

The singer also admitted that her own struggles with food have made her worry about the impact she is having on her daughter.

"I see Lola loving sugar like all the other children but I also see her pay a little more attention like when there's a birthday party, I see her being the first in line to get the cake. I see me in her," Wilson said. "I think she's going to be alright as long as we're in control of this."
